Samsung Galaxy Z TriFold Leaks Reveal First Look At Tri-Fold Phone Design

Samsung’s long-rumored tri-fold smartphone has finally surfaced in new leaks and official showcases, offering the first concrete look at what could become the company’s next major innovation in foldable technology. Known as the Galaxy Z TriFold, the device was recently displayed at a side event during the APEC Summit in South Korea, with new images and a video shared by Korean news outlet Dailian and reliable tipster Ice Universe.

This marks the first time the public has seen Samsung’s tri-fold concept in physical form after years of speculation and prototype demonstrations. The leaked materials reveal a large, continuous flexible display that folds twice, allowing the device to transform from a compact smartphone into a tablet-sized screen when fully unfolded. The design maintains Samsung’s characteristic centered punch-hole camera on the main display, though the bezels appear slightly thicker than on the current Galaxy Z Fold lineup.

According to reports, the Galaxy Z TriFold will feature three distinct rear panels. The leftmost panel is expected to include a triple-lens rear camera setup mounted on a raised camera island, similar to Samsung’s existing Fold models. The middle panel could house the cover display, complete with a front-facing camera, as seen in Ice Universe’s leaked image. This configuration suggests Samsung aims to merge productivity and portability while offering a seamless transition between phone and tablet modes.

The new device reportedly employs two inward-folding hinges, forming a G-shaped structure, in contrast to Huawei’s Mate XT, which uses one inward and one outward hinge in an S-shaped layout. Samsung’s inward-folding approach is believed to better protect the internal flexible display from scratches and external impact, while still keeping the outer cover screen accessible for quick interactions.

While anticipation for the tri-fold phone is high, availability may be limited. Current information suggests Samsung may initially release the Galaxy Z TriFold only in select Asian markets — including South Korea, China, Singapore, and Taiwan — with no confirmed plans for a US launch at this stage. Pricing details remain unknown, though the device is expected to be positioned as a premium flagship product, likely exceeding the cost of the Galaxy Z Fold 6.
